In 2003 D.O.G. GmbH designed the first commercial quality assurance software for translations — ErrorSpy. ErrorSpy automatically checks translations for various characteristics such as terminology, typography and number errors, and omitted or inconsistent translations. ErrorSpy can read various file formats including SDL Trados formats, TMX, XLIFF, Transit XV and bilingual text files. Lists of errors are generated automatically and can be exported. The reviser can edit the errors and some types of errors can be corrected automatically. ErrorSpy generates an objective evaluation of translation quality using customizable metrics, and it can be integrated into workflows.
