Freelance interpreters and translators usually work alone, without coworkers for support and guidance. The Association gives us an opportunity to share our experiences with others in our profession, and to learn about tools, information and resources to improve our professional qualifications, provide better service to our clients and help our businesses grow. HITA is governed by its bylaws, updated and approved by our members in March 2006. HITA is an affiliate of the American Translators Association (ATA). HITA shares ATA's primary goals and objectives: to advance the translating and interpreting professions and to foster the professional development of individual providers. We encourage all HITA members to learn more about the educational opportunities and other programs and benefits offered by the ATA.
