Lingenio GmbH is the producer of the machine translation system translate and the innovative software suite translateDict. The translate programs feature state-of-the-art grammatical processing, very comprehensive and detailed dictionaries, interfaces to Microsoft Office applications, management of user terminology and a translation memory function. Lingenio was founded in 1999 as a management buyout from IBM. Based on translation technology originating with IBM, Lingenio developed the well-known Personal Translator until early 2004. In May 2004, Lingenio started a close cooperation with digital publishing, a leading specialist in language learning software.
