The NCTA is a professional association of translators and interpreters in Northern California, and a chapter of the American Translators Association (ATA). With a membership of roughly 500 individuals, businesses, and institutions, NCTA not only serves the Northern California area, but also has members throughout North America and as far away as Germany, Brazil, and Israel. NCTA organizes a number of member activities, including: Email lists for constant communication and information sharing with colleagues; Workshops; Semi-annual local sittings of the ATA Accreditation Exam; Quarterly general meetings with speaker programs, followed by networking.
